WOMEN'S MOVEMENT LAUDS ANTI-WAR EFFORT
WOMEN'S MOVEMENT LAUDS ANTI-WAR EFFORT by: G.Marnier - SatireNewsService
Contrary to their repeated opposition to the Iraqi war, members of NOW, NARAL and FATSOS (Feminist Anti-males That Support Oligarchical Sisterhood) have voiced their relief that some of Saddam Hussein's wives have been liberated in Baghdad.
In a statement released at a hastily called press briefing, Patricia Ireland, former head of NOW, said: "This is a great day for all women because it shows that the Masters Golf Tournament's refusal to allow women to participate, was the work of anti-choice sexists."
After 38 seconds of reporters' stunned silence, confused looks and shaking heads, Ireland added: "They are living proof that even Iraqi women can, should and must have control over their bodies with no interference from men, particularly in the matter of choosing to terminate a pregnancy."
SNS's assurance that they had about as much chance of playing golf or becoming pregnant as Ireland had of recognizing reality, was met with unexpected clapping from the media representatives and a hasty exit by Ireland.
