CLINTON HOPES TO EXPAND LIBRARY'S IMAGE

CLINTON HOPES TO EXPAND LIBRARY'S IMAGE

By: G.Marnier - SatireNewsService

Due to the lack of public interest in the $165 Million Clinton Library, former President Bill Clinton called a meeting of the Library's Board of Directors and announced that the availability of services would have to be widened.
Although the meeting was closed to the media, a wired waiter contacted SNS and gave a transcript of what was discussed.
Paramount on the agenda was Clinton's concern that his history and his legacy were being ignored, thereby diminishing the efforts of his political strategists who feel that if Congressional Democrats could be convinced to OK a constitutional Amendment allowing naturalized citizens like Gov. Schwarzenegger to run for President, then Republicans might change the 22nd Amendment and allow him to run again for the Presidency in 2008.
Although she was not present, among the subjects discussed was Hillary's early description of the library's architecture as being "transparent" and symbolic of the admirable openness of Democratic governance. Not discussed was why the names of donors and the amounts they gave have never been released to the public nor was her own campaign for the White House in 2008 brought up.
In what the waiter described as pleading, Clinton reminded the Board that he had been very open with the exhibits in the Library with sections dedicated to his impeachment, Monica Lewinsky, Whitewater, Ken Starr, the White House Travel Office firings, Vince Foster, 'Iran-Contra' and acknowledging that the seven investigations of his administration had cost more than $100 million.
He didn't mention why the names of the 14 persons convicted in the Whitewater investigation and the five-year suspension of his Arkansas law license were not posted.
When SNS asked why he had felt the need to tape the meeting, the waiter said he was from Little Rock:
"I got no respect for that man, not when he was Governor or when he was President. I grew up poor and when that library was bein built, the Mayor and Clinton sure didn't want anybody to know Little Rock was voted the "meanest' city in the country because of how they treated us poor folks."
Taking a photograph out of his pocket, he added: "Clinton gave this to the Board, sayin that the people in the picture were his friends and if people like that could eat in his restaurant, he would get their votes in 2008 cause they were just like him and didn't have anything to hide."
The waiter said the Board agreed to take it under advisement and left the room.
